The Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.
How it works
- Choose a task you want to focus on.
- Set the timer to 25 minutes (Focus mode).
- Work on the task without interruptions.
- When the timer rings, take a 5-minute break (Short Break).
- After four focus sessions, take a longer 15-minute break (Long Break).
Why it works
By breaking your work into manageable chunks, you reduce mental fatigue and procrastination. The strict time limits create a sense of urgency, while the regular breaks prevent burnout and keep your mind fresh.
